Letter to a College Student // Camilya Clark

To college students,

The best years of my life so far are in college.

Enjoy those four years or five depending on what program you are in. I met my best friends in college. We still talk and we continue to support and guide each other in the journeys that we take.

I thought that I knew God before college. It turns out; I knew what people said about Him.

During my freshman year, I learned who God was personally. You could say I fell in love with Him. I became a part of a community which was a foreign concept before college. With the help of friends, I was able to make better decisions, deal with grief, and face some buried insecurities.

I also was able to give in ways that I didn’t realize that I had the ability. I didn’t realize how fortunate I was to have communities until I graduated. It is hard to find communities outside of work and church in the “real world.” I know that it is scary to think of joining the real world, dealing with financial problems, and being away from home.

However, when you really look at the opportunities around and build relationships with people, you will really enjoy your college experience as well as gain a lot of knowledge. You can do it!
